I’ve never wanted to see USA network’s series The Dead Zone, but if the show is as good as its soundtrack, maybe I should tune in. The CD is an eclectic mix of dance, rock (soft and otherwise), rap and reggae with a Vandals song thrown in for good measure. Highlights include Jeff Buckley’s “New Year’s Prayer,” “True Soul” by Kia Kidari and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” performed by the star of the show, Anthony Michael Hall. Yes, the same Anthony Michael Hall from such favorites as The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. His version of “Hallelujah” may not be as lovely as Rufus Wainwright’s, but it definitely doesn’t suck. Check it out if you’re a fan of the show, or just looking to buy an interesting mix of music.
