Bad Astronaut

Acrophobe

Editor's Review:

Lagwagon’s Joey Cape’s side band with original drummer Derrick and friend Marko 72. You can clearly spot Joey’s familiar boyish voice, but on this album he adds a bit of sophistication. Poppy punk rock with piano solo’s and slow meditative bridges. Cape’s natural talent for songwriting really shines through. They cover "Needle in the Hay" by Elliott Smith, and in my opinion, do a much better job at it. Bad Astronaut, hence the name has a kind of spacey feel to it, by using keyboard effects. They thank Radiohead, Jawbreaker and the Foo Fighters who no doubt had an influence on this record.
