Nashville Pussy
Get Some
Editor's Review:
You can get a pretty good idea of what this band will be like from their name, album title and album cover (which features women in Daisy Dukes and men with moustaches and mullets). The album consists of high-energy bar rock from front to back. While not the best music for hanging out and listening to, I’d imagine it would be great for barbecues, parties or any other social gathering. Besides, with lyrics like “Come on, come on, fuck yeah!” it doesn’t exactly reward the astute listener. If distorted riffing and guitar solos are your thing, this album is probably right up your alley. Just make sure to pick up a case of beer and a few friends on the way home.

Nashville Pussy
Bio[+]Formed in Athens Georgia in 1996, Nashville Pussy has been releasing some of the nastiest, sweatiest psychobilly rock ‘n’ roll that has ever offended Middle America. Their first album, Let Them Eat Pussy (originally released on Amphetamine / Reptile Records in 1998, then re-released on Mercury) yielded “Fried Chicken and Coffee,” a song that earned them a Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance” in 1999. Their original “Southern Discomfort” style has successfully tickled the musical Labias of critics and fans alike, and their sexual innuendo, wild stage antics and dirty lyrical themes provide concert attendees an often-memorable show. Their latest release, Say Something Nasty (Artemis Records) was released in 2002.
