Unsung Heroes

Unleashed

Editor's Review:

The latest project from Dan "The Automator" Nakamura's 75 Ark hip-hop label, Unsung Heroes are known individually as British producers Insite and Shiver, whose talent on the boards is exercised here, along with several of the American underground's top names. The overall vibe is mellow, centering mostly on jazz-influenced loops and samples over easy-rolling, slightly thuggish at times, always head-nodding beats. Rappers contained on Unleashed include Siah & Yeshua Da Poed, Mr. Comples, L-Fudge, J-Live, Ken Boogaloo and many more, making this release one of the strongest lyricist comps to hit the racks this year.
