Dead Meadow

Dead Meadow

Editor's Review:

Dead Meadow describes themselves as "heavy and psychedelic," which I call hippie music. The bassist for Fugazi started the record label they are on, so you would think he would know some talented musicians…apparently not. Loud, hard bass beats take over the record, drowning out the singers voice, which is still uncertain if it is a man or woman. This record was definitely recorded in a garage and probably in about two days by the sounds of it. The slow beats are complimented by a heavy guitar and strong bass; the singer is often absent, replaced by the guitar which is played efficiently, and does well to fill in.
