Southern Culture on the Skids

Liqoured Up and Lacquered Down

Editor's Review:

Southern Culture on the Skids is a band that walks the thin line between Alt-Country and Boot Scootin' Boogie, pulling it off without a (wagon) hitch. Most of the songs are about the classic themes of drinkin', dancin' and depression , and are tackled with heavy doses of southern drawl and Rockabilly distortion. Songs such as "Drunk and Lonesome (again)" just make me want to brew up some moonshine and buy a shotgun. "Did I meet you in a bar / did we talk about cars? / I was drunk and alone / that's how you took me home." Ahh...who says romance is dead?
