Chiodos

Bone Palace Ballet

Written By: Mike Kieran

Editor's Review:

Bone Palace Ballet combines a wide variety of sounds; unlikely rock riffs, electronic effects and varying vocals. The aggression level of the music changes dramatically. Some of the music is creative, if not strange. Chiodos demonstrate a dark sense of humor with song titles like “Is It Progression If a Cannibal Uses a Fork?” and “I Didn’t Say I Was Powerful, I Said I Was a Wizard.” Craig Owen’s vocals differ stylistically, although primarily employ a high-pitched, nasal whine. I would vastly prefer this band if they were instrumental. Chiodos has come a long way since their start in high school near Flint, MI. While I don’t enjoy their music, their creativity and enthusiasm for boundary smashing is commendable.
