Rick Ross

Rise to Power

Written By: Lynsie Cameron

Editor's Review:

This southern rapper drops his fourth album with kind of a flop. Past albums like Port of Miami had talent and hit tracks, but Rise to Power seems like it could have been a lot better. I’ll give it to Rick Ross for trying to do things a little differently than before, and for exploring underground talent with new guests like Scarface and T-Low from Next — and he succeeded — but it isn’t strong enough for much recognition. Tracks seem to blend together without any real standout performances. Ross pulls out a couple of catchy tracks like “Prove Me Wrong,” “B.L.O.W,” and “Dear Lord,” but Scarface outdoes Ross on this one.
