Win Us Over

Written By: Buck Knuckle

Editor's Review:

With their fourth album Win Us Over, ASG (which stands for Amplification of Self Gratification...doesn’t that name make you want to give the band high-fives?) forge a heavy-psych lance from the molten ore of their stoner rock predecessors. Drawing deft blues heaviness from metal master Tony Iommi and strangely recalling the soaring lead guitar work of Dave Navarro, this North Carolina foursome cooks. From the sewers of their sludge tones and relentless horse-galloping beats, Jason Shi’s wiry vocals rise to a shining pinnacle. Win Us Over is the perfect blend of fist-pumping, hair-flailing and melody, and should be blared at maximum volume from your ‘80s conversion van. Bonus points if you have unicorn or wolf-themed van art.
