Two Dark Birds

Editor's Review:

With everything coming from abroad these days isn’t it time to start buying American again? A good start would be this self-titled album by Two Dark Birds. No, this isn’t one of those American Indian mood infomercial CDs that you buy on Channel 3. These musicians from Pakatakan Mountain, New York do a wonderful job of capturing the Americana/soul/folk/rock sound that would make the founding fathers of those genres proud. Listen to “Cut Down To Size” if “you want to go out and go get stoned” and “Pernod Blues” for its guitar solo of blues amazing-ness. If you’re into the likes of Petty, Diamond and Dylan, this is the album for you.
