The Briggs

Come All You Madmen

Written By: Sean Wilburn

Editor's Review:

From track one, you know where The Briggs are going with this: fist-swinging, head- bobbing, shout-along punk anthems that beckon dark beer and whiskey. Densely blue collar, there’s nothing flashy about Come All You Madmen. Instead, The Briggs stomp through track after track on the strength of a watertight rhythm section and some flat-out sick guitar work from the LaRocca brothers. They’re the kind of East Coast/West Coast harmony that could have saved Tupac and Biggie. Highlights include “What Was I Thinking,” “Charge Into the Sun” and “The Ship Is Now Sinking.” This is their best and most honest effort yet. Yeah, it lacks consistency, but when they’re on it’s easy to forget about weaker tracks.
