Indecisive Youth

From Now On

Editor's Review:

Rumor has it that the singer for Indecisive Youth only took the job as frontman because one of the other band member’s aunts bet him that he couldn’t hack it. Time to pay the man, lady. You certainly lost that one, this kid’s got some pipes. No nasally, whining punk rock slob for these guys, he actually sings, and well, too! Changing from melodic wailing to a scream that would make Cannibal Corpse jealous, his versatility really shines through on songs like "Trade Up" and "Skateboarding Is Not A Crime."

With that kind of talent up front you would expect the rest of the band to fall short on their end of the bargain, but that isn’t the case with Indecisive Youth. Solid all the way around, the supporting cast complement each other in a way that few small-time acts do. Simple but great vocal harmonies (that they can actually pull off live) and the lightning speed of the guitarist’s wrist are among the many outstanding attributes of this band.

You can hear influences ranging from Descendents and Green Day to The Beatles and Quiet Riot, and with that as a musical base how bad can they be?

A few of the strong points on this disc are "So Blind," a song that will have everybody at their shows singing and "9:10 p.m." an anthem for those who have ever lost a loved one. One of the best debut albums that I’ve heard in a long time, I urge anyone who is bored with cookie-cutter punk rock to check these guys out.
