Jets To Brazil

Four Cornered Night

Editor's Review:

Jets To Brazil’s second release finds this group — a quartet these days, whose members draw from histories with seminal indie rock outfits Jawbreaker, Texas Is The Reason, Handsome and Van Pelt — exploring more interesting territory, finding use of grander instrumentation (notably piano and organ) and delving further into the practice of intricate pop songwriting. Frontman Blake Schwarzenback’s juxtaposition of mellow yet happy melodies with lyrics that aren’t exactly uplifting makes for a emotionally confusing, though catchy complete package which will no doubt appeal to all fans of smartly constructed, lyrically self-realizing rock music.
