Low

Things We Lost in the Fire

Editor's Review:

Low provides the perfect soundtrack for those who are feeling down. The proper environment for listening to this CD, should be shivering alone in a bath tub, half full of luke-warm water. Their simple melodies and instrumentation create a towering structure of intricate beauty, and the slow movements of their songs prove that speed isn't necessarily the only way to achieve power. Over-driven guitars, pianos and synths weave dreamy melodies into the sparse and simple undertones of the bass and drums, while Alan Spearhawk and Mimi Parker's mellow voices lull you into a pleasant slumber. If you're looking for something to dance to, go ahead and skip Low, but if you're all about sitting in a dark room engulfed by sound, this is for you.
