Matt Nathanson

Still Waiting for Spring

Editor's Review:

If heartfelt acoustic-based rock 'n' roll is your thing, you should check out the new Matt Nathanson disc. Filled with little victories over common threats to happiness, this poppy album's universal nature should appeal to almost everyone who has, at times, felt defeated. He strikes back at being unsatisfied with his girl in "Answering Machine," but lets us know that he's not as comfortable as "All the wan, hip, full-lipped lovers" in "Amazing Again." In "More than this," Matt is told that "I know you're a salesman's son, and you're pimping pretty junk." Ouch. I'd have to bitch-slap anyone who told me that. Either that or go off into a corner and cry…
