Video Game Review

My friends and I had a blast playing this easy-to-learn game. By my second round I was able to compete with its movie-fan owners, because the game is not strictly based on who knows the most esoteric factoids. For one thing, many of the 1,800 questions center on simple ideas, like which actress starred in which movie, or finishing famous movie quotations. There are many different kinds of trivia games within, including guessing which movie is referenced in a sketch you watch being drawn or which title is an acronym of the letters on the screen, identifying which movie a picture came from, etc.

The wireless Big Button Controllers bundled with the game are superb. They are perfectly sized rods with a big round end housing a big button. One hits the big button to ring in at some times, other times players hit one of the traditional Xbox buttons located along the rod. These controllers would be awesome for the new breed of games aimed at traditional non-gamers (a market Microsoft is reportedly salivating over), so they should be utilized in the future. The nature of the simple controllers and multiple mini-games makes this an ideal party game, but it would probably get old fast for a solo gamer. However, the game supposedly tracks and avoids questions that have been asked before, so repeat play is there.
